Content and objectives:

No prerequisites are required: this course is specifically designed for beginners, even with no experience using hand tools.

In a small group for personalized guidance, this workshop will allow you to learn at your own pace and enjoy an experience that is both enriching and friendly.

Program of the day:

Morning – First gestures and first shapes

• Safety first: learn how to handle tools with confidence.
• Basic techniques: carve your first shapes and make your first wooden spoon.

Afternoon – Further learning and free creation

• Put it into practice: refine your first piece or create a second spoon.
• Tool maintenance: discover the art of sharpening for precise cuts.
• Going further: talk with Patrick about techniques for creating more ambitious pieces.

Objectives of the day:

• Understanding wood: recognize different species and adapt your technique.
• Acquiring technical basics: use the right tools, adopt proper gestures, and work safely.
• Expressing your creativity: give shape to your ideas and leave with your own unique creations.

Schedule: 10:00 am – 12:30 pm and 1:30 pm – 5:15 pm (15-minute break in the afternoon)

Please note:

Tools, gloves, and wood are provided. You don’t need to bring anything except your enthusiasm!
For the lunch break, you may bring your own meal or take advantage of nearby shops.
You will leave with your creations.

We recommend wearing closed-toe shoes.
