Learn how to repair your chair
We offer a 3-hour workshop to learn how to independently carry out simple repairs on chair frames. This workshop has been specially designed for amateur or professional upholsterers and cabinetmakers interested in chair joinery.
Content and objectives:
During this course, open to everyone with no prerequisites, you will:
- Become familiar with chair anatomy and the most common joinery techniques.
- Identify the issues most frequently encountered when restoring chairs.
- Determine what can be repaired yourself and when it is necessary to call in a professional cabinetmaker.
- Learn how to replace cleats using tools accessible to the general public.
- Learn how to dismantle and re-glue a chair (using clamps and/or straps).
This workshop combines theoretical input, advice, and hands-on practice.
