Straw marquetry is a very old technique. It consists of gluing rye straw edge to edge.
This discovery day of straw marquetry is led by Ophélie. You will first learn how to create a straight straw pattern. Then, you will make a sun motif, an iconic design of Jean-Michel Frank’s furniture, the renowned decorator of the 1920s. Finally, depending on progress, you will create a sample of the diamond point pattern.
No prerequisites are required to take part in this introductory day of straw marquetry. All materials are provided and tools are made available.
