Can you introduce yourself in a few words?
After an artistic education at the Beaux-Arts in Angers and then at the Arts Décoratifs in Paris, followed by a period working as a textile designer for fashion houses, I have been sculpting paper since 2001. Paper sculpture is a fascinating and playful technique. It allows for a quick sense of letting go: nothing is ever final with this material—you can always correct it, transform it, abandon it, then come back to it. I’ve been sharing this passion for the past 12 years.
What is your story with L’Établisienne?
I was looking for a new place in Paris to teach. Laurence welcomed me in 2022. I really enjoy working in this workshop—it’s a very inspiring place.
What do you do there?
I teach paper sculpture classes two days a week. Beginners, experts, and the undecided are all welcome.
What is:
- Your favorite material? Paper in general, and old paper in particular
- Your favorite tool? The hand
- Your favorite gesture? The soft, fluid gestures needed to truly work with paper
