Jérôme, vous propose un atelier de 3 heures en petit groupe pour réaliser votre stylo en bois et s’initier au tournage sur bois.
Vous façonnerez les formes selon votre imagination puis personnaliserez votre travail avec des brûlages et une petite gravure.

Content and objectives:

This workshop is open to everyone, with no prerequisites.

• After choosing your wood species from several options, you will mount your two blanks (pre-cut, drilled, and glued with tubes) on a mini lathe using spacers, and turn them using various tools.
• You will discover the mini lathe as a whole and use different speeds depending on your goals (rounding, shaping, and sanding).
• You will use specific turning tools such as roughing gouges, spindle gouges, scrapers, and parting tools to rough out, cut, scrape, part off, and gradually remove material, allowing the shapes (beads, coves, and edges) to emerge.
• Sanding with different grits will reveal the wood grain and create a smooth surface.
• You will use an engraver and different methods to personalize the pen (wood burning, grooving).
• A finish will be applied to protect the pen and give it a glossy or matte sheen.

After careful finishing, you will assemble the various parts using a press, then place your creation in a velvet case.
