Knowing how to renovate and upcycle a piece of furniture
We offer a furniture upcycling course to cover preparation and finishing techniques in order to give your furniture a new lease on life!
This workshop is led by Ophélie Chaumat, a decorative painter with twenty years of experience.
Content and objectives:
What is the difference between restoring, upcycling, or renovating a piece of furniture?
We speak of restoration when the piece is rebuilt identically.
Renovation brings a piece of furniture back into good condition.
Upcycling, on the other hand, changes the visual appearance of a piece of furniture with the aim of modernizing it.
Lors de cet atelier pratique de 3 heures vous passerez en revue les différentes étapes nécessaires pour rénover et relooker un meuble ancien ou récent.
- Savoir diagnostiquer un meuble : ciré, vernis, huilé ?
- Préparer les supports bois : décirer, décaper, poncer.
- Traiter et réparer le bois.
The second part of the course will focus on choosing paints and application techniques for a successful finish.
