Collage course

We offer occasional or regular attendance for a three-hour collage class. This collage course is open to everyone—beginners and experienced collage artists alike, explorers and form inventors. No technical or artistic prerequisites are required. Kindness and non-judgment prevail.

According to Wikipedia, collage is “the assembly of different forms creating an entirely new whole. In the visual arts, a collage may include newspaper clippings, ribbons, pieces of colored or handmade paper, photographs, etc., glued onto a solid surface or canvas.”

Content and objectives:

Guided by Luc Favard, artiste-collagiste, et enseignant-formateur, vous réaliserez un collage sur papier.

Ce moment d’atelier a pour vocation de vous offrir un espace de liberté créative ou vous pouvez construire, à votre guise et selon les goûts qui vous sont propres, un assemblage d’images, principalement issues de la presse-magazine ou de chutes de papier.

Sur fond musical approprié et dans l’enthousiasme, en plus d’une aide technique et d’un enseignement artistique (équilibre des couleurs, des formes…), il vous est proposé un accompagnement de type coaching propice à :

• Provide a rich creative experience and help you bring your visual project and work-in-progress improvisations to completion (discovering what you are doing as you do it), and quickly find your own style.
• Sharpen your eye… and even develop a visionary perspective.
• Listen to your sensations, inspirations, imagination, intuitions, and dreams.
• Facilitate liberating inner permissions and amplify your talents and resources.
• Move beyond limiting beliefs and dare to express your eros, your intimate poetry—your artistic and human potential—by playing with colors, framing, shapes, and graphics for visual pleasure and excitement, as well as the gradual revelations of meaning they can bring.

Thus, by arranging a collage—a finished artistic form—you may surprise yourself, delight yourself, and spark reflection.

Please note:

• You may bring your own papers, images, and magazines.
• Basic materials are provided for the duration of the workshop.
• Occasionally, Luc also leads workshops more oriented toward personal development.
