A well-sharpened tool is not a luxury—it is the guarantee of precise, clean, and safe work.
At L’Établisienne, we believe that mastering technique starts with mastering the tool. A perfect cutting edge reduces effort, improves cut quality, and extends the life of your tools. This course is dedicated to sharpening, an essential skill for any craftsperson, whether professional or amateur. This 3-hour workshop is open to everyone, with no prerequisites.
Content and objectives:
During this course, you will discover and learn:
- This workshop is primarily hands-on and will enable you to become fully independent in maintaining your cutting tools.
- Understanding angles: Introduction to sharpening principles, bevels, and micro-bevels for different materials and uses.
- Sharpening materials: Discovering and using different types of stones.
- Hands-on practice: Intensive training on the most common tools—chisels, plane irons, and other standard blades. You are invited to bring 1 to 2 of your own tools for a personalized assessment.
- Regular maintenance: Tips on maintaining your tools between intensive sharpening sessions.
Please note:
Wearing closed-toe shoes is recommended.
