Course description

Metal polyhedron

Content and objectives:

  • Discovering materials: Handling and comparing different metals (zinc, copper, brass, steel) to understand their properties and choose the one best suited to your future projects.
  • Precise marking: Transferring the polyhedron template onto the zinc sheet using a scribing point to ensure clean and accurate cutting.
  • Cutting with shears: Using manual metal shears to cut the polyhedron elements according to the marked lines.
  • Quality control: Carefully checking each cut element to ensure it perfectly matches the model.
  • Assembly by tack welding and soldering: Preparing the pieces by tack joining, then assembling the faces of the polyhedron using a soldering iron and tin.
  • Solder finishing: Smoothing the solder joints with a file or sandpaper to achieve an aesthetic finish.
