Complete woodworking course
This introductory woodworking workshop is an extended version of our “Cutting and Joinery” workshop.
During this one-day course, you will practice and become familiar with the essential vocabulary, tools, and techniques of woodworking.
There are no prerequisites, and you do not need to have a specific project to take part in this workshop.
Duration:
6 hours of instruction in one day, with a one-hour break.
Content and objectives:
This introductory woodworking day alternates between technical explanations and hands-on exercises using all the tools (hand sawing, jigsaw use, etc.):
- understanding the main characteristics of wood and wood-based materials
- learning how to mark out and measure a piece
- hand sawing using traditional saws and Japanese saws
- proper use of a jigsaw
- different types of joints: traditional (mortise and tenon, groove, tongue, rabbet, straight joint, dovetail…) and modern (dowels, lamellos, …)

Please note:
You may bring your own lunch if you wish; otherwise, you can take your break at nearby shops.
We recommend wearing closed-toe shoes.
