Offer a moment of sharing with Antoine, a knife maker from Mayenne.
At the end of this 3-hour workshop, you will leave with your own knife!

You will assemble the different parts of the knife using traditional knife-making techniques. You will choose from several types of wood, then shape the handle using professional knife-making belt sanders.
This will be followed by polishing the handle and finally sharpening the blade.

A workshop to make your own knife in the heart of Paris!

Antoine, coutelier mayennais pose régulièrement ses machines dans notre atelier pour vous accompagner dans la fabrication de votre couteau.  Antoine est animé par sa passion pour son métier et la partage avec plaisir.
Cette expérience dure de 3 heures. Les groupes sont limités à 6 personnes.

The main steps of this knife-making workshop are: First, assembling the different parts of the knife using knife-making techniques, then shaping the handle with belt sanders. Finally, polishing the handle and sharpening the blade.

Materials: You will be able to choose from several types of wood: birch, holly, oak burl, juniper (Ardèche), boxwood, plum root, lilac root, plane tree, pear and apple wood, mainly sourced from forests in Mayenne. Other wood species may be available depending on availability and drying level. The blades are made from XC90CrMo17 stainless cutlery steel, and the springs and liners are made from XC20CrMo17. The sheath to hold your knife at the end of the workshop is made of leather.

Gift vouchers are valid for three years. Some workshops are seasonal.
