Upholstery: seat padding

Don’t know what to do with that chair frame you can’t use and that’s taking up space? Do you love that armchair but it’s become too uncomfortable?

Give your seating a second youth with the guidance of Virginie Chartier.

Whether it’s a complete reupholstery or a fabric change, no prior knowledge is required for these courses—but be aware that restoring a chair can take quite a long time!

Content and objectives:

Simply come with your chair and Virginie will guide you in upholstering it according to traditional methods.

Each step will be explained. Virginie will demonstrate the techniques and guide you as you reproduce them so that you become autonomous.

• Webbing
• Springs and tying
• Adding the stuffing
• Upholstery and stitching
• The underlining
• Fabric installation (depending on the participant’s progress)

You can start at any time of the year. Between sessions, we store your chair on site, and you choose the time slots that suit you best: Mondays from 2:00 pm to 5:00 pm, and Mondays and Wednesdays from 7:00 pm to 10:00 pm.

Priority is given to participants with an ongoing restoration project, which is why bookings are made by phone only..

• Tools are provided.
• Materials are included except for the chair itself, the finishing fabric, and the trim.
