3h sessions, discovery and accompaniment of basketry, mulching and caning
Whether to discover new techniques, to create an object or to restore a seat, Nathalie accompanies you during sessions of 3 hours.
Basket weaving is the art of weaving plant fibers to make a variety of objects: baskets, baskets, mirrors …
In furniture, the first cannages are found on the chairs under the Regency and Louis XV. During the winter the cane parts, seat and back, were covered with a cushion of fabric to isolate drafts.
The caning extended to other pieces of furniture, such as Sofas and armchairs, bed boards, and remained a decorative theme for the following styles.
Mulching or stuffing consists of using straw or other material to make a part, usually the seat, of certain seats (chairs, armchairs, etc.). The resurfacing is the replacement of this original trim. We will first learn how to do a marsh straw mulch before tackling rye straw.
From a session for the realization of a rattan object to a series for caning or mulching a seat, you can start at any time of the year and between two sessions, we store your seat on site and you choose the slot or slots most, Mondays from 10 AM to 1 PM or Tuesday 6:30 PM to 9:30 PM.
