Can you introduce yourself in a few words?

After working for more than 25 years for luxury leather goods houses—especially Louis Vuitton, Dunhill, and Chanel—I decided to put my expertise in leather craftsmanship to good use by sharing it through creative workshops. During these sessions, participants discover how to work with leather: preparation, assembly, stitching, adding small accessories, and finishing touches.

What is your story with L’Établisienne?

My first contact with L’Établisienne was in 2021. I immediately fell in love with the place and its creative atmosphere. It’s a space that truly encourages craftsmanship and the sharing of experience. I instantly felt that wood and leather could naturally come together in this inspiring setting.

What do you do there?

I run workshops lasting from 2 to 4 hours, depending on the project: 2 hours: two small leather accessories (card holder, passport cover, glasses case, phone case, plus another small item), with an introduction to the saddle stitch. 2.5 hours: a tool roll or a leather belt. 4 hours: a small crossbody bag or a drawstring pouch bag.

The leather is sourced through an eco-responsible approach, from associations, suppliers, and manufacturers with surplus materials, past collections, or unused samples. By taking part in these workshops, participants give a second life to forgotten materials—and proudly leave with their own handmade creation.

During the workshops, we use the main leatherworking tools such as the awl, pricking irons, hole punches, and linen thread.

What is:

  • Your favorite material? Leather, of course!
  • Your favorite gesture? Hand-stitching leather using the saddle stitch.
